Completed Projects

Washburn Plaza
Modoc Contracting worked with a General Contractor out of Central Point in 2007 to completely renovate the old Skateland building on Washburn Way. We installed seismic upgrades including sheathing and bracing, added finish elements, painting and stucco surfacing. The resulting ‘Tuscan’ themed commercial building is quite attractive and, as the Klamath Basin’s economy continues to rebound, should have retail tenants to fill the 17,000 sf. space soon.

Klamath County and City School Districts
Modoc Contracting has performed a great deal of work for the local school districts in the past years, a relationship that we hope to continue. From additions and remodels, ground up construction, and simple painting projects to ceiling replacements following hazardous asbestos removals, we provide a wide range of construction services and support to the schools. We also assist the districts and their architects with project development, budgeting and design.

Lakeview Hospital
Completed in 2009, and worth close to 15M, the Lakeview Hospital Expansion project was a 27,000 square ft. remodel and addition that spanned 3 phases and 18 months. Modoc Contracting, working under Andersen Construction out of Portland, performed a large walls and ceilings package of 14 divisions that included framing, drywall, insulation, and multiple interior and exterior finish components.

Wiard Park Restrooms
One of our more recently completed projects was the Wiard Park Restrooms Building. Finished in May of 2013, this project was a ground-up, public works job. Modoc Contracting, with the help of four local subcontractors built this one on time and under budget, accomplishing it in a little over 4 months. Winter weather difficulties made the end date a little tight, but we had it open in time for the community to use when spring weather came to the Klamath Basin.

Washburn Shopping Center
A great example of some of the large scale commercial/retail construction we perform, this shopping center was built over 10 years ago in a great location. The developer/contractor hired Modoc Contracting to do all the Metal Framing, Stucco, Sheathing, Insulation, Drywall and Acoustical ceilings on the shells of these 4 large buildings, totaling over 60,000 sf. Over the following year we also did many of the TI build-outs in the various spaces as Tenants began to move into each building.

Kingsley Field
Since 1994, Modoc Contracting has been working on construction projects virtually non-stop at the Kingsley Field ANG Base and Airport. From walls and ceilings packages on buildings such as the Command Center, the Fire Station and (more recently the KFANG Security Forces building), to remodels on virtually every other building on the base.

Modoc also worked for the City of Klamath Falls to remodel the Terminal Building with security upgrades and modernized passenger handling. We have resurfaced with stucco or painted at least 75% of the buildings on base over the last 10 years. We maintain an excellent working relationship with the contractor reps, the MATOC general contractors and the CE staff and plan to continue providing construction services for the foreseeable future.

OIT
One of our most consistent local clients over the past 20 years has been the Oregon Institute of Technology. Beginning with widespread earthquake damage repairs in the early 90’s, Modoc Contracting has been providing a wide range of construction services for the college ever since. We have worked for multiple General Contractors to add on, remodel and renovate almost every building on campus, as well as working for Skanska USA to build the 2 phase, 80,000 sf. Dow Center in 2007. Modoc frequently works for OIT as a general contractor, doing remodel projects, additions and complete building renovations. These projects include the Student Health Center, the Gym Addition, Owens Hall, and Semon Hall.

Police:
In 2009, Modoc Contracting worked for HSW contractors out of Bend to build the new City of Klamath Falls Police Station. At over 27,000 square feet, this Design-Build project was a complete renovation and addition to the old National Guard Armory building. We performed a multi-division package that included Metal Framing, Insulation, Sheetrock, Acoustical Ceilings, Painting and FRP as well as a few specialty divisions.
